With the preview of Microsoft's Wave 2 '24 release, the legacy Advanced Settings will be replaced with the Power Platform Environment Settings App. The new Power Platform Settings app provides a modern, accessible, and secure settings management experience. The app is intended to provide a single, unified experience for System Administrators to manage application settings.
The new Power Platform Settings app replaces the legacy web experience and provides the same security, access control and extensibility features as the existing experience. This feature will be organized into a set of incremental rollouts beginning with the replacement of the settings application and following updates. Any existing extensions that have been created by customers to extend the settings site map will be preserved and any solution imports that include extensions to settings will be honored and routed to the Power Platform Environment Settings app.
As part of the initial release, existing links for Advanced Settings will be redirected from the legacy web client to the new Power Platform Settings app.
Until this feature reaches the general availability stage, which is expected to be January 2025, System Administrators may turn off the Advanced Settings redirection to the new Power Platform Environment Settings app.
We strongly recommend taking full advantage of new Microsoft functionality during the preview period rather than reverting to legacy tools. As Microsoft gradually phases out legacy features, adopting the new functionality during the preview period helps you and your firm adjust smoothly, avoiding disruptions when the new features become standard. New functionality brings enhancements in performance, security, and user experience. Adopting preview features lets you improve processes and take advantage of new technology immediately.
