Wave 2 2025 Features and Engage Compatibility

While Wave 2 2025 introduces significant AI enhancements and user experience updates to Dynamics 365 Sales, these features are not currently supported or tested within the Engage managed solution.
Many of the new capabilities rely on components such as the Sales Accelerator, which may have limited compatibility with the custom entities and attributes used in Engage. Additionally, several features require specific licensing, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot or Copilot for Sales, which are not included in Engage’s current licensing agreements.

As a result, most Wave 2 2025 features fall outside the scope of Engage’s supported offerings. We recommend that Engage users and administrators:

  • Continue using the existing, supported features within the Engage solution.
  • Avoid deploying Wave 2 2025 features until they have been fully evaluated for compatibility and support within Engage.

Licensing Considerations for Microsoft Sales AI Features

Many of the latest Sales AI capabilities, such as Sales Qualification Agent, Copilot email assistance, and conversation intelligence, are available only with Sales Premium, Sales Insights, or Dynamics 365 Copilot licenses. While Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise includes some advanced AI features, it does not provide access to the full suite by default.
Engage firms should review their current Microsoft licensing to confirm eligibility for these features. Specifically, check whether your organization has:

  • A Sales Premium license or add-on
  • A Dynamics 365 Copilot license
  • Appropriate Microsoft 365 or Power Platform subscriptions

Features like AI form-fill, Outlook integrations, and Copilot chat in Sales may also depend on Power Automate and Microsoft Copilot entitlements.

For detailed licensing guidance, refer to the Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide (April 2025) and Microsoft’s official sales licensing documentation.

General Updates

Form Fill Assist -AI toolbar (Generally Availability Oct 2025)

The Form Fill Assist feature is an expansion of the Smart Paste feature. Users can fill Engage forms using AI by copying client data to their clipboard or uploading supported files directly into the toolbar. Copilot will take this data and attempt to find meaningful content to populate the Engage Form. Users can then approve the suggested results. Learn more here.

Natural Language Filtering with Smart Grid (Generally Availability Oct 2025)

Smart Grids will enable users to build queries in Engage with natural language. This feature has the potential to save you time when searching for data in your CRM as it provides an AI alternative to the Legacy Advanced Find query builder. Learn more here.

Connect AI Agents to Sales Workflows (General Availability Dec 2025)

New Model Context Protocol (MCP) enables Engage to be able to connect to not only Microsoft AI assistants but also third-party AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude. This feature allows AI assistants to be able to perform actions on Dataverse Data via a set of pre-built tools, with more tools being developed. The upcoming tools being released to General Availability include:

  • List Leads

  • Retrieve Lead Summary

  • Qualify Lead to Opportunity

  • Get Outreach Email

  • Send Outreach Email

Learn more here

Visualize and work with Hierarchical Data from Multiple Tables (Generally Availability Oct 2025)

Initially, this feature will allow users to visually display the hierarchical relationship between two tables (e.g.. Contacts belonging to a Relationship). In the future, Microsoft plans to enable the visualization to display relationships between multiple tables. (e.g., Holdings belonging to a Financial Account which belong to a Relationship). Learn more here

Power Automate Updates

Create and Edit Expressions in Power Automate with Copilot (General Availability Dec 2025)

This feature will allow admins to create and edit existing complex expressions to be used by cloud flows through the input of natural language into Copilot. This feature further reduces the barrier to entry for Low/No Code automations in Engage. Learn more here.

Easily Debug Condition Actions in Power Automate  (General Availability Dec 2025)

This feature expands on the debugging capabilities of Power Automate by providing more detail and context as to what dynamic information was provided to a Condition action, as well as the output of any expressions used in a Condition action. Previously, only the Condition action’s True/False output was given to the user during debug.

Dataverse/Power Platform Updates

System Jobs Retention Policy (General Availability Nov 2025)

This feature allows administrators to purge the AsyncOperation and WorkflowLog tables as the records within these tables age past a defined retention policy. This feature will mimic the retention policy feature of Audit History. The feature has a planned public preview beginning in Oct 2025.

Restore Deleted Records within a Specified Time Frame (General Availability Nov 2025)

This feature provides a safety net for accidental or bulk deletions by enabling easy recovery of records within a defined retention period of up to 30 days. Administrators must enable this feature for use. Learn more here.
